- Assistant Professor of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

General Description/Primary Purpose:
The School of Engineering is seeking a 9-month, tenure-earning, Assistant Professor of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. This position will report to Dr. Alan Harris, Director of the School of Engineering. Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses with a 2/2 teaching load, leading an externally funded research program in their field and service to the School, College of Computing, Engineering and Construction and the University of North Florida.
Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026.
Working Hours: Varies
Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role.
Required Qualifications:
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely-related field. The candidate must also demonstrate a record of scholarly achievement and evidence of teaching excellence.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
Candidates in all areas of manufacturing and industrial engineering are encouraged to apply, with preference given to those specializing in control and automation, advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing, supply chain / transportation / logistics or operations research. Candidates should demonstrate the potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program and to collaborate effectively with existing faculty and local industry. The successful candidate will be expected to show a strong commitment to teaching excellence and a willingness to engage in continuous learning. Additionally, collegiality, active service, and participation in departmental governance are essential attributes for this role.
