Summary The Site Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the safety and compliance efforts at the company's largest site. The Site Safety Coordinator is responsible for executing site-level safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with FMCSA, OSHA, and DOT regulations, and serving as a key liaison between the site, employees, and customers to promote a culture of safety excellence.
Job Description
Safety Compliance & Program Execution: Implement and support site-specific safety programs and initiatives that align with company and regulatory standards (FMCSA, OSHA, DOT). Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and assessments to ensure operational compliance. Maintain equipment and site compliance with federal and state safety regulations.
Independent Problem-Solving & Safety Advocacy: Serve as a trusted safety resource for the site, identifying risks and recommending actionable solutions independently. Proactively resolve safety-related concerns, escalating complex issues when necessary. Promote and model a strong sense of ethics and personal accountability in all safety activities.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective working relationships with site employees, customers, and clients to support a collaborative and safe work environment. Act as a point of contact for client safety inquiries and concerns, demonstrating professionalism and responsiveness.
Training & Awareness: Deliver safety training and assist toolbox talks to site personnel, ensuring consistent understanding of regulatory compliance and company policies. Educate employees on incident prevention, hazard identification, and safe work practices.
Incident Response & Reporting: Support incident investigations with thorough documentation, root cause analysis, and recommendations for corrective action. Maintain accurate safety records and assist in preparing reports for leadership and regulatory bodies.
Data Tracking & Reporting: Maintain and update safety dashboards and logs using internal tools and systems (e.g., Power BI, LYTX). Provide regular reports on safety performance metrics and trends to site and regional leadership.

Qualifications and Experience
3+ years of safety experience in transportation, logistics, or industrial operations.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong knowledge of FMCSA, OSHA, DOT, and applicable state regulations.
OSHA 30 certification preferred, OHSA 10 required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with safety management systems.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
High level of professionalism, customer service orientation, and ethical integrity.
Valid driver's license (Commercial Class A preferred).
Ability to work varying shifts and travel occasionally as needed (up to 25%).
